Initial Consultation
During the initial consultation, Dr. Tunnell will listen to your concerns, take a history, and collaborate with you around goals for your mental healthcare. You will get the chance to see if you two are a good “fit” or if someone else would meet your needs better. If you start treatment with Dr. Tunnell, he will then recommend therapy, medication, or both if appropriate.

Services
Initial consultation
1-2 hours; $400/hr
Initial consultations are typically 60 minutes for adults and around 1.5-2 hours for adolescents and children. For children, this is often broken up into one meeting with just parents, and then a separate meeting with the child as well. After hearing your concerns and taking a thorough history, we will discuss treatment options and next steps at the end of the consultation.
Psychotherapy follow up
45 minutes; $320
Extended follow ups for adults include psychotherapy with or without medication management. For children and adolescents, extended follow ups may include therapy, or they may be medication-focused.
Medication follow up
25 minutes; $220
These appointments are medication-only appointments without psychotherapy. For children and adolescents, this type of appointment is used only for simple medication visits for stable patients.
Service Fees
Dr. Tunnell does not accept insurance and is an “out-of-network provider”. He can provide you with a “super-bill” that you can submit to your insurance company. Please contact your insurance provider for questions about out-of-network reimbursement. Please note that Medicaid and Medicare do not permit out-of-network claims. All fees are due at time of service. Dr. Tunnell accepts credit card or FSA/HSA.
